The Doors : The End

In Memoriam : Ray Manzarek

THE DOORS
"The End"

This is the end
Beautiful friend
This is the end
My only friend, the end

Of our elaborate plans, the end
Of everything that stands, the end
No safety or surprise, the end
I'll never look into your eyes...again

Can you picture what will be
So limitless and free
Desperately in need...of some...stranger's hand
In a...desperate land

Lost in a Roman...wilderness of pain
And all the children are insane
All the children are insane
Waiting for the summer rain, yeah

There's danger on the edge of town
Ride the King's highway, baby
Weird scenes inside the gold mine
Ride the highway west, baby

Ride the snake, ride the snake
To the lake, the ancient lake, baby
The snake is long, seven miles
Ride the snake...he's old, and his skin is cold

The west is the best
The west is the best
Get here, and we'll do the rest

The blue bus is callin' us
The blue bus is callin' us
Driver, where you taken' us

The killer awoke before dawn, he put his boots on
He took a face from the ancient gallery
And he walked on down the hall
He went into the room where his sister lived, and...then he
Paid a visit to his brother, and then he
He walked on down the hall, and
And he came to a door...and he looked inside
Father, yes son, I want to kill you
Mother...I want to...fuck you

C'mon baby, take a chance with us
C'mon baby, take a chance with us
C'mon baby, take a chance with us
And meet me at the back of the blue bus
Doin' a blue rock
On a blue bus
Doin' a blue rock
C'mon, yeah

Kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill

This is the end
Beautiful friend
This is the end
My only friend, the end

It hurts to set you free
But you'll never follow me
The end of laughter and soft lies
The end of nights we tried to die

This is the end

Mister Lee : Stay in love

Stay in love, par Lee Lozowick.

It's so easy to quite a job, easy to react in anger

It's so easy to blame someone else
To believe you're in danger

But it's hard, so hard, to stay in love

It's so easy to rant about

What's wrong with the world

It's so easy to lust after
Every pretty boy or pretty girl

But it's hard, so hard, to stay in love

It's so easy to fantasize, to lie and to pretend

It's so easy to jump on the latest fashion trend
But it's hard, so hard, to stay in love

It's so easy to fall in love with one of your own kind

But even when the heart is pure
The mind is still the mind

That's why it's so hard to stay in love

DOMINOES

It's an idea, someday
in my tears, my dreams
don't you want to see her proof?
Life that comes of no harm
you and I, you and I and dominoes, the day goes by...

You and I in place
wasting time on dominoes
a day so dark, so warm
life that comes of no harm
you and I and dominoes, time goes by...

Fireworks and heat, someday
hold a shell, a stick or play
overheard a lark today
losing when my mind's astray
don't you want to know with your pretty hair
stretch out your hand, glad feel,
in an echo for your way.

It's an idea, someday
in my tears, my dreams
don't you want to see her proof?
Life that comes of no harm
you and I, you and I and dominoes, the day goes by...

Frank Zappa : What's the ugliest part of your body ?

Humour, dérision, puis contestation, avec ce court extrait d'un album de Frank Zappa,"We're only in it for the money". (1967)

Le texte :

"What's the ugliest part of your body (bis)
Some say your nose
Some say your toes
But I think it's your mind

All your children are poor infortunate victims of system beyond their control
A plague upon your ignorance and the gray despair of your ugly life

Where did Annie go
When she went to town
Who are all those creeps
That she brings around

All your children are poor infortunate victims of lies you believe
A plague upon your ignorance that keep the youngs from the truth they deserve"

Certains disent votre nez
D'autres disent vos orteils

The Rolling Stones : Between the buttons

Yesterday's papers

who wants yesterdays papers
who wants yesterdays girl
who wants yesterdays papers
nobody in the world

after this time i finally learned
after the pain and hurt
after all this what have i achieved
i've realized it's time to leave

cause
who wants yesterdays papers
who wants yesterdays girl
who wants yesterdays papers
nobody in the world

Living a life of constant change
every day means the turn of a page
yesterdays papers are such bad news
same thing applies to me and you

who wants yesterdays papers
who wants yesterdays girl
who wants yesterdays papers
nobody in the world

seems very hard to have just one girl
when there's a million in the world
all of these people just can't wait
to fall right into their big mistake

who wants yesterdays papers
who wants yesterdays girl
who wants yesterdays papers
nobody in the world

Jimi Hendrix - The Troggs : Wild Thing

Wild Thing

Wild thing...you make my heart sing...
You make everything
Groovy
I said wild thing...

Wild thing, I think I love you
But I wanna know for sure
Come on, hold me tight
I love you

Wild thing...you make my heart sing...
You make everything
Groovy
I said wild thing...

Wild thing, I think you move me
But I wanna know for sure
So come on, hold me tight
You move me

Jimi Hendrix : Bold as love

"Bold As Love"

Anger, he smiles,
towering in shiny metallic purple armour
Queen Jealousy, envy waits behind him
Her fiery green gown sneers at the grassy ground

Blue are the life-giving waters taken for granted,
They quietly understand
Once happy turquoise armies lay opposite ready,
But wonder why the fight is on
But they're all bold as love, yeah, they're all bold as love
Yeah, they're all bold as love
Just ask the axis

My red is so confident that he flashes trophies of war,
and ribbons of euphoria
Orange is young, full of daring,
But very unsteady for the first go round
My yellow in this case is not so mellow
In fact I'm trying to say it's frigthened like me
And all these emotions of mine keep holding me from, eh,
Giving my life to a rainbow like you
But, I'm eh , yeah, I'm bold as love
Yeah, yeah
Well I'm bold, bold as love (hear me talking, girl)
I'm bold as love
Just ask the axis (he knows everything)

Patto

Mike Patto : vocals
Olly Halsall : guitare, vibraphone, piano
John Halsey : drums & percussions
Clive Griffiths : basse
